This week we had another members evening.
- Malcolm Roberts had returned from a recent holiday in Japan and showed the photographs he had taken on the trip. The weather there was too warm to trigger the autumn colours he had been wanting to capture, but he came away with some great shots of Japanese gardens and buildings, and some beautiful portraits.
- Steven Beard showed night photographs of the aurora borealis, captured in May and October 2024, plus some photographs of Comet A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) at sunset.
- John West showed us more details of the lighting and setups that he uses for his indoor still life shots. We used one of John’s studio setups during our indoor photoshoot in October.
- Derek Muller showed us how he had converted some mundane wildlife shots into something special by careful editing. A chipmunk eating a blade of grass became a chipmunk smelling a flower.
