This week we visited Beeslack Penicuik Camera Club for our annual audio visual night. Beeslack entertained us with two fascinating presentations on the theme of Leith: the first described the history of Leith and its surroundings and the second followed the Water of Leith from the coastline back to its source in the Pentland Hills. John Knox and Gus Langlands presented a long-waited part 2 of their Landscape Group presentation on the historical and scenic sites around East Lothian (which included some shots taken from Bass Rock). The quiet and reflective historical presentations were a contrast to the short presentation by Steven Beard, Gavin Marshall and Joe Fowler, showing the demolition of Cockenzie Power Station!
I am glad the weather finally let us visit Beeslack. It was an enjoyable evening, and I came away with ideas for lots of interesting places to visit around East Lothian and the Water of Leith.
