Club Meeting 04 December 2017 (4-Way Inter-club Competition at Edinburgh)

The second  interclub competition was hosted on Thursday, 4th December 2017 by Edinburgh Photographic Society. Regulars Musselburgh Camera Club and Stirling and District Camera Club were joined this year for the first time by Kirkcaldy Photographic Society, making this a 4-way competition once again. Clubs entered 15 digital images each, making a total of 60 images on the night. There was a wealth of good wildlife images from all clubs. The images were judged by Gordon Scott of Mid Calder Camera Club. Edinburgh Photographic Society entertained us with an elaborate spread of sandwiches, drinks and Christmas goodies.

Images were judged in alphabetical order, so at the tea break it was hard to predict the result. Musselburgh were trailing in 3rd place, but had more images in the second half. By the end of the night, the points had accumulated, and the final scores were:

  • Musselburgh Camera Club – 262 points
  • Edinburgh Photographic Society – 253 points
  • Stirling and District Camera Club – 251 points
  • Kirkcaldy Photographic Society – 250 points

Well done to Musselburgh for a good win this year. Our top-scoring images were:

  • Kingfisher 1 – 20 points
  • Kingfisher 2 – 19 points
  • Mountain Gem – 19 points
  • Osprey – 19 points
  • Drover – 18 points
  • Grouse on Lammermuirs – 18 points
  • Mountain Hare, High Five – 18 points
  • Orange Tip Butterfly – 18 points
