Club Meeting 08 March 2018 (Set Subject Competition – Movement)

Following the cancellation of last week’s meeting because of heavy snow, our second set subject competition of the year was moved to 8th March 2018. The competition was judged by Joe Fowler, who won the second competition last year. The subject for this week’s competition was “movement”. 13 members submitted a total of 38 images.

I was away this week and missed the judging, but the top scoring images were:

  • Big Salmon Leap (Mike Clark) – 19 points
  • Field (Martin Lunden) – 19 points
  • Fairground (Stephen Williams) – 18 points
  • On The Beach (Sean Conner) – 18 points

The highest scorers were:

  • 5th place (47 points)
    • Malcolm Roberts
    • Martin Lunden
  • 4th place (49 points)
    • Sean Conner
  • 3rd place (50 points)
    • Jennifer Davidson
  • 2nd place (51 points)
    • George Todd
    • Steve Williams
  • 1st place (53 points)
    • Mike Clark

Mike Clark wins the privilege of judging next year’s competition.

The set subject trophy will be won be the member who has the best combined score from their best two competitions. After two competitions, the contenders are:

  • Steve Williams (53 + 51 = 104)
  • Martin Lunden (55 + 47 = 102)
  • George Todd (50 + 51 = 101)
  • Helen Lunden (55 + 45 = 100)
  • Jennifer Davidson (50 + 50 =100)

However, any of the highest scorers could still overturn these results in the third competition on 29th March 2018.
