Club Meeting 3 November 2016 (Colour Print Competition)

This week we our colour print competition was judged by Al Buntin of Dundee Photographic Society. 42 images were received altogether. Al was impressed by the overall standard of the images, some of which were good enough to enter the SPF competition. Those present were given a lesson in composition, as Al explained how some of the prints could be improved by changing the angle of view, adding extra elements, removing distractions, changing the lighting or changing the depth of focus. Several of the composite images had photoshop faults, and Al’s advice was to look at these images carefully when you think they are finished to make sure the focusing makes sense all the elements work together. The top scorers were (in reverse order):

  • 4th = place (48 points)
    • Jane Renton, Simon Wilkinson, Steve Williams
  • 3rd place (50 points)
    • George Todd
  • 2nd place (51 points)
    • Joe Fowler

    • Mike Clark
