99% AGAINST AUSTERITY – Protest against Government Austerity cuts, meeting at St Andrews Sq, Edin on 4th May 2013 at 12.00hrs for demo and March. 2500 invited, Police estimate approx. 300 attendees. Can be found on Facebook if you have an account
British Scooter Assoc meet at Kelso, Scottish Borders25-27th May 2013 Large National meet with eclectic mix of characters and machines, might be worth a look if you’re in the area.
Edinburgh Marathon Festival, 26th May 2013 a world class event attracting 20,00 people and finishing at Musselburgh 2nd largest competitor sport event outside the London Marathon, apparently!
Jim Clark Rally, Duns ,Scottish Borders 31st May-2nd June part of British Rally Championships several classes and locations around Berwickshire, worthwhile if you’re a petrol head!!
Scottish Defence League rally/march an unsavoury bunch with strong political feelings that attract counter demonstrators, who are just as opinionated and can be just as unsavoury. Big Police commitment that can sometimes be a non-event. Venue and time T.B.C. scheduled for 1st June 2013 due to council stalling on granting permission, (Democracy in Action!) 3 Harbours Festival at various venues in Prestonpans. Cockenzie & Port Seton from 1st-5th June 2013
Royal Highland Show 20th-26th June 2013 at Ingleston lots of people and lots of cows, tractors to if that’s your thing!
British Open Golf Championships at Muirfield, lots of people, lots of traffic, lots of men in strange outfits and costs lots of money. 14th-21st July 2013.
